Removing rust and old coating is often part of pipeline infrastructure maintenance and renewal projects.
JettyRobot offers the possibility to equip multiple tool types for this operation. Depending on the task and the desired result, the following technologies can be selected:
Each of these technologies has its own purpose.
High pressure water jetting removes rust and old coating effectively without changing the surface under the coating.
The advantage of abrasive blasting is that you get a surface profile suitable for a new coating at the same time as removing the old coating and rust.
To a limited extent, dry ice can also be used to remove rust. As a non-abrasive medium, dry ice can remove light surface corrosion. It can be combined with the addition of an abrasive. This procedure allows to achieve abrasive blasting quality with a reduced volume of abrasive. As dry ice turns into gas immediately, its use also reduces the volume of waste to be disposed of after blasting.
